"It would appear that someone has apparently opened the "door" and these two parallel data networks are currently spilling into one another..." These are my own words but in my eager exploration of the parallel CB data universe that is currently merging with our own amateur packet radio environment, I missed a subtlety which was right before me, easily observed on the PORTS list at NL9CDR. The Assen, Nederlands-based citizen band node NL9CDR is indeed linked with "someone", actually G1NNB, an amateur packet radio system located at Witham Essex,in the United Kingdom. Since both NL9CDR and G1NNB offer radio ports, the potential exits for users from one service to cross over and connect into the other. But is this something? Or is this nothing? I must confess I am not familiar with wireline or radio regulations in either country as it might pertain to a convergance of the citizen band and amateur radio services. If anyone has additional information, then please let the TELNET NEWS/LAND LINE LID THIS WEEK know. It might make for...interesting reading. What follows is a session scrollback displaying a telnet session with NL9CDR along with an exploded view of the PORTS lists on both sides of the wire. The "=>>" notation shows each point of entry.
